Electronics Recycling

It is illegal in California to put in the trash any of the following: batteries, fluorescent lights, televisions, computers, and all electronic items with a circuit board (VCRs, printers, stereos, radios, microwaves, telephones). For LARGE electronic items, call 818-548-3916 or go to Bulky Item Collection to schedule a free residential bulky item pickup. We will need to know your address, trash collection day, description of items, and where they will be placed for pickup. Residents of multi-family buildings need to call 818-548-3916 to determine your bulky item collection day and where to place your items. Calls must be received three working days in advance of the pickup.

Businesses and residents can also recycle computers, televisions, batteries, and tabletop electronic waste (printers, fax machines, telephones, etc.) at the

Glendale Recycling Center

818-552-2870

from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays. All firms that sell cell phones are now required to accept them for recycling. Please check your local phone directory for store locations.

Batteries and other SMALL electronic items can be taken to the

Glendale Environmental Management Center
780 Flower Street
818-548-4030
along with other household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, sharps, motor oil) every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Businesses interested in recycling computers should first consider one of the organizations listed below which specialize in recycling usable business computers, which are generally more valuable than residential computers.
